Stewardship

In 1986 Block Island Conservancy established a permanent Stewardship Fund as a means of assuring that its properties would be properly maintained in years to come. In 1989, Block Island Conservancy and The Nature Conservancy established one of the nation’s foremost “greenways”. This system of pathways winds through the heart of the Island from the airport to Black Rock, from Beacon Hill to New Harbor and the West Side. It is tangible evidence of cooperative efforts of varying organizations and individuals.
