The Block Island Conservancy needs your help

This fall, the Town Council will hold a public hearing to gather input before voting on an amendment that will strengthen an important tool for achieving land protection: the conservation easement.

We need your support as this amendment heads to the Town Council for a vote.

How You Can Help

1. Send An Email

The Town Council accepts public comments from island residents and visitors; by voicing your support, you will let our elected officials know how important this issue is to the community. Please consider sending an email to the Block Island Town Council voicing your support for conservation on Block Island.

To the Town Council: I support the amendment to Section 202 as proposed by the Block Island Conservancy, The Nature Conservancy, and the Block Island Land Trust to exclude conservation easements from developable land calculations unless the easement language specifically permits it. Sincerely, [YOUR NAME]
